The vote to not renew her contract took place at the Nov. 20 Board of Trustees meeting, and passed with and 8-1.

Dr. Carol Eaton issued this statement regarding the development: “As my time at Daytona State wraps up, I want to salute this amazing, collegiate community. I’m so proud of our students, who come to us from all walks of life, and our faculty and staff who help them on their journey.

“It’s a pleasure to work with such dedicated professionals who focus on supporting our students’ success. That’s what we’re all here for, and I thank this community for its hard work. Together we’ve put the college back on solid footing in so many ways, and opened new possibilities for partnerships going forward.

“Daytona State is a powerful player in the economic strength of our region; I know this college will continue to improve what it already does so well – educate a high-quality workforce while helping people achieve their dreams.”
