Free and open to the public.<\/p>\n<p><b>Through Dec. 3<\/b><\/p>\n<p><b>\u201cCarlos Betancourt\u201d \u2014\u00a0 <\/b>The Puerto Rican native moved to Miami in 1981 and made the legacy of\u00a0 South Beach his photographic canvas. Betancourt has pushed the boundaries of the genre into the realm of sculptural and performance art. The exhibit is a showcase of his most recent works, an introduction to Central Florida.<\/p>\n<p><b>Through Dec. 18<\/b><\/p>\n<p><b>\u201cEn-Light-Ened: Digital Photo Academy Participants\u201d<\/b> <b>\u2014 <\/b>Each summer the SMP hosts an intensive, two-week photo program for young adults, ages 14 to 17. The best images from each student\u2019s portfolio\u00a0 are showcased for this public exhibition. It represents a variety of subjects and styles indicative of these young photographer\u2019s voices.<\/p>\n<p><b>FAKE NEWS SERIES<\/b> <b>\u2014 <\/b>Examines practices and ethics of journalists with films from then to now. Five theatrical films depict reporters working to uncover hidden truths and four documentaries address the more complicated issues of our time, including government surveillance, gun violence and race relations.
