Some\u00a0 68 people attended the event, raising $200 for the student club.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cOur next step is using that money to build Music Industry Club&#8217;s presence and give back to the community,\u201d says Fernandez. \u201cWe currently have about 15 club members. Our next event will be an acoustic music night held at \u2018Thank You 5,\u2019 an intimate theater located in Port Orange. Clyde Morris Blvd., Unit 2N, Port Orange, in the Ravenwood Shopping Center.<\/p>\n<p>Established in 2011, the club is advised by all Music Production faculty, but Associate Professor Jake Nicely is the \u201cofficial\u201d adviser. MIC was established to create, reinforce and amplify awareness of the Daytona State College Music Production &amp; Technology benchmark program and the students enrolled in the program, along with the music and entertainment pursuits of the students and alumni. M.I.C. seeks to respect, inspire and encourage its members&#8217; imagination, originality, resourcefulness, and creativity, and the artistic contributions of all.<\/p>\n<p>MIC\u2019s vision statement is \u201cdedicated to bringing the verse, the emotion, the beats, the melody, the passion, the mood, the vision and the entertainment of music and related fields to the world. We are committed to leadership, professionalism and excellence in all its forms in promoting music, creators, executives and the music industry as a whole.
