For Smith, the journey was one of self-discovery, and would shape his photo taking and professional pursuits for the rest of life. For the viewer of this collection, the journey is through an America rich with culture. These photos capture a sense of character that could only have existed in this place, at this time. The curation and context of the show has been provided by the students of Daytona State College, including sections of Professor Jayanti Seiler&#8217;s class &#8220;Photography as an Art Form.&#8221;<\/p>\n<p><strong>\u201cA House is Not a Home\u201d:<\/strong> Works by Brooke DiDonato<\/p>\n<p>Accompanying the permanent collection photographs will be the work of Brooke DiDonato. Born and raised in Ohio, she is now based in New York City. She graduated with a degree in photojournalism from Kent State University in 2012. Her work explores the complexity of human cognition, and what happens when psychological anomalies manifest in reality. By placing viewers in the context of a narrative with no clear beginning or end, she forces them to ask \u201cHow did we get here?,\u201d \u201cWhat happens next?\u201d and \u201cCan we go on?\u201d\u00a0 \u201cA House is Not a Home\u201d is a series of self-portraits conveying feelings of isolation and discontent experienced when returning to her hometown in Ohio.<\/p>\n<p><strong>JOE MCNALLY<\/strong> \u2014\u00a0 March 7, 1 p.m. \u201cThe Light and The Life: Photographer Joe McNally.\u201d<br \/>\nWorld-renowned photographer Joe McNally will talk about a professional photographer&#8217;s life over the span of a 30+ year career.
