Held in room 202 in the 530 Photography Building, an experimental gallery came to life for any student who had presentable printed works.
\nThe Pop Up Art Show was not curated, therefore allowing artists to have the freedom to come and go from Sept. 19 to 26. Featured student artists included Laurel Higman, Andrew Gilbert, who proudly presented his painting, \u201cForty-four to Naples,\u201d Jeff Roach, and many more accomplished artists from all mediums.
\n\u201cIt is an event to bring together the students, alumni, and professors at DSC as well as artists from different art mediums to all exhibit together,\u201d says Higman, a student in the UCF photography program who orchestrated the event.
\n\u201cThe show is not curated so it contains an incredible assortment of topics and mediums. I hope that the photography department will be able to host pop up shows more often, and that these events will cultivate a closer community in the arts at DSC as well as in Daytona.\u201d<\/p>\n

The show also featured Deja Hayes, who submitted \u201cThe Little Girl with the Big Fro\u201d and \u201cEmulation of Alice In Wonderland.\u201d Both of those works featured her beautiful little cousin in bright, exhilarating images that bring to life a child\u2019s imagination.
\nAudiences were equally appreciative, calling the Pop-Up Gallery a marvelous exhibition of creativity, breathtaking portraits and a result of magnificent amounts of time, energy and hard work reflected in every piece.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
