{"id":315,"date":"2012-10-15T09:33:33","date_gmt":"2012-10-15T14:33:33","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/www.daytonastateinmotion.com\/?p=315"},"modified":"2018-05-13T18:44:19","modified_gmt":"2018-05-13T22:44:19","slug":"backpack-weigh-in","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.daytonastateinmotion.com\/oldsite\/backpack-weigh-in\/","title":{"rendered":"Backpack \u201cWeigh-In\u201d"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>By Orion Christy<br \/>\n<span style=\"line-height: 1.714285714; font-size: 1rem;\"><\/p>\n<p>Recently, Daytona State College\u2019s Occupational Therapy Assistant program conducted a two-day test to see how many students were \u201cout of sync\u201d with the national recommended guidelines for backpack weight, being 15 percent of body weight.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p>This is believed to be a very serious problem as estimates by the American OTA put more than 78 million, or over 55 percent, of American students over the recommended limit.
