But there is hope hungry students!

The Halifax Health-Medical Center of Daytona Beach offers a cafeteria with a wide selection of food and is next door, at 303 N. Clyde Morris Blvd. It is open Monday through Friday and serves breakfast from 6 to 9:30 a.m., lunch from 11 a.m. to 2:30 p.m. and dinner from 4:30 to 6 p.m., but has limited service between meal times.

Another option available to students is the France Tower Coffee Shop, also located in the Halifax-Health Medical Center. It’s another nearby place to get a cup of morning coffee or an afternoon pick-me-up and is open until 10 p.m. The coffee shop offers a full espresso bar, pastries and made to order food.

Finally, housed in the Hosseini Center, building 1200, is Cafe 101. It’s a more formal dining experience and not ideal for on-the-go, but it is close, convenient and gets rave reviews. Cafe 101 has been highly rated by the Daytona Beach News-Journal and is open for lunch Monday through Friday with seating times of 11:30 a.m. or noon, but only serves dinner on Wednesday evenings, with seating times of 5:30 p.m. or 6:00 p.m.

Cafe 101 features a fixed-price menu of $11 for lunch and $15 for dinner, which includes tax. Patrons receive an appetizer, entree, dessert and beverage. Vegetarian meals are available by request and all gratuities help fund student scholarships.
