The Falcons women’ volleyball team spiked off the season in September with an impressive game against Florida State College of Jacksonville at the DME Sports Complex.

It was a game that came down to the wire, but in the end DSC’s Lady Falcons were able to reel it in for a victory. Head Coach Laura Stegall, after the impressive 13-3 start for the 2018/2019 season, said her biggest is making sure her players buy into the game plan and work together as a team.
Even watching the players warm up was an excitement for onlookers. Each player seems eager to learn and get better at their game. And as a coach that is all Stegall can ask for. She believes the teams has the fire and energy to win on the court and serve the competition a slice of humble pie.
In five seasons under the direction of Coach Stegall, the Falcons have been listed in the NJCAA’s top 25 each year since their inaugural season. Stegall’s has coached exceptional players like NJCAA All-American, Alica Kandler, who went on to be a standout player for Virginia Commonwealth and Joely Cabrera, who graduated from Daytona State College after two exceptional years as a Falcon to start for the Gamecocks of University of South Carolina.
Stegall moved to Daytona Beach in 2007 when husband, Randy Stegall, accepted the position as Head Baseball Coach at Embry-Riddle Aeronautical University.
Lady Falcons Volleyball will play the College of Central Florida in a home game on Oct. 4 and will take on Eastern Florida State College in Brevard County Oct. 9. Both games tip off at 7 p.m.
