In Trend is a monthly feature that looks at the latest and greatest restaurants, products, activities and other pop culture must-haves for students. In Motion’s writers, editors and staff members respond with their own favorite things online. Go to daytonstateinmotion.com to see what they have to say.
Global Friends was established in 1997 and is helping to make the presence of international students known on Daytona State’s campus and it celebrates all nationalities.

Danjha Leon – President
Leon, from Peru, loves the study abroad program she participated in over spring break. She traveled with other Daytona State students to the United Kingdom, visiting England and Scotland. Leon’s favorite place was Edinburgh, Scotland. While overseas, she enjoyed dishes such as “bangers and mash” and enjoyed the gothic architecture the UK has to offer.
Sache Vascome – Vice President
Vascome, from Bermuda, loved the event held at Stetson University called “Pride Prom.” “The people who attend are just incredible, honestly amazing people.” Pride Prom is a collaboration with the Gay-Straight Alliance and helps to celebrate gay pride.
Antonio Rodriguez – Secretary
Rodriguez’s favorite event this month was spring break. He loved spring break because it gave him the opportunity to relax, go to the beach, and sleep. “I got to sleep!”
