Every year at Daytona State College, Senior Professor of the School of World Languages and Speech, Suzanne Stewart hosts an event to honor the many cultures her students represent.

“I’ll definitely go and check it out!,” says Amber Bohannon of the nursing program at DSC, who is excited to see what’s in store for the audience this year. The show features not only students of the Language Arts program at DSC, but also faculty members and, on some occasions, even Professor Stewart’s husband. Audiences can look forward to Russian and German singers to flamenco dancing and everything in between. This year’s event also features at least six different cultures, from German to Arabic, and is hosted by the School of Languages and English as a Second Language or ESOL.
Stewart says the show is so exceptional that “The students remember it more than their actual classes!”
What started out as Spanish plays written by the professor turned into a talent show, which then morphed into what is known today as the Multicultural Show. It has been running since 2010 under that moniker and Stewart hopes that it will continue to run well into the future.
